One of the most effective solutions for the proper irrigation of plants during the summer vacation, is the use of an automatic irrigation system. A simple and user friendly guide for installation on our balcony could consist of the following:
- Connection of tap timer (Wi-Fi or simple) to the tap.
- Connection of the main irrigation pipe F16 SuperPal 6atm to the tap timer with: Tap Adaptor ¾” (female), Hose connector ¾” (male), Coupling Nut and Grip Ring.
- Connection (where needed) between the parts of the main irrigation pipe, with the use of fittings such as: Indented Elbow, Indented Tee, Indented Coupling, Indented Terminal.
- Distribution from the main irrigation pipe F16 to the pots with: Special Punch, Snap Fit 6mm, PVC Microtube and Indented Plug (in case of opening a wrong hole).
- Drip irrigation with: Self Compensating Drippers AGRAS – SC/ND, Supporting Spike.
Maintenance tips of the automatic irrigation system
Proper maintenance and regular control of automatic irrigation system will ensure its trouble-free operation. Every year, in early spring, we clean the drippers of soil, salts or dust and check if they are clogged and if they irrigate properly. We also change the batteries of the tap timers, so that they continue to operate smoothly. Finally, at the beginning of winter, when the use of the automatic watering system is usually stopped, we remove the tap timer for protection against frost and moisture, while during storage we also remove the batteries.
